As part of the Women Deliver Global Dialogues and in alignment with the Women Deliver Conference to be held in July 2023, AGIP will be hosting a report launch event to showcase key findings from the ‘Investing in Adolescent Girls’ research conducted by GAGE.
It has been one year since AGIP launched its refreshed strategy whose focus is having girls on the agenda and at the table. In response to the new strategic objectives, we outlined our advocacy position as Shifting Power and Resources to Adolescent Girls and Youth-led Organisations. AGIP through its advocacy position is working to ensure that commitments and resources are channelled directly to adolescent girls and girl-led organisations by using evidence.
By mapping investments into adolescent girls at the global and country-level (Bangladesh and Ethiopia) to produce a comprehensive snapshot of what investment there is and how funds are distributed, the ‘Investing in Adolescent Girls’ research came as a result of the need to fulfil our objective to influence global decision-making spaces and advocate for increased investment into adolescent girls.
Through this event, we aim to start the conversation on how much funding has been recently allocated to adolescent girls, how funding can be increased to reach the most marginalised adolescent girls, as well as made accessible to adolescent girls’ organizations and programming. The report launch will also pave way for AGIP’s ‘Resourcing Adolescent Girls: An Intergenerational Dialogue’ concurrent event session during the Women Deliver Conference 2023.
