GAGE’s research on psychosocial well-being explores how adolescents develop emotional resilience, and their access to external support. Research tools assess the magnitude and severity of depression and anxiety, attending to differences by gender and age, as well as the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
GAGE is also investigating the role of family, peers and caring non-family adults (teachers, religious leaders and other role models) in supporting adolescent well-being. GAGE is also assessing ‘what works’ to improve adolescents’ well-being, in terms of access to psychosocial support services (formal or informal).
