Act with Her was a multi-year curriculum-based adolescent empowerment programme aimed at gender norm change, and promoting adolescent sexual and reproductive health information and rights, including puberty education and destigmatisation of menstrual health.
It was initially implemented over a five year period between 2018 and 2023 in Afar, Amhara and Oromia regions, reaching approximately 50,00 adolescent girls and boys, and was subsequently scaled up by the Ministries of Education and Health in Amhara and Oromia, and also in the south of Ethiopia.
GAGE carried out a mixed methods randomised control trial evaluation of the programme to inform adaptive programming from 2018 to 2024.
