GAGE’s research on economic empowerment focuses on whether young people can access decent work and control their own earnings. It explores the skills-building opportunities and jobs available, and how these vary by gender, refugee status and disability; how young people’s financial literacy and access to assets can help them develop income-generating opportunities; and how local work options shape adolescents’ migration patterns.
GAGE also explores ‘what works’ in terms of how social protection programming meets young people’s needs and supports them to develop the capabilities they need for a productive adulthood.
