On June 14th, GAGE, Leonard Cheshire Disability and ADD International hosted a side event on the margins of the 11th COSP to the CRPD at the UN Headquarters in New York entitled “Adolescence, disability and gender inequalities: understanding the policy implications of new research findings for LMICs”. Panellists included Dr. Ola Abu Alghaib, Director Global Influencing and Research, Leonard Cheshire; Dr Muriel Kahane, Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE), Strategic Learning Manager; Mr Gopal Mitra, Program Specialist, Children with Disabilities, UNICEF; and Ms Clare McKeown, Director of Funding and Partnerships, ADD International. The panel was chaired by Judith Heumann, Senior Fellow, Ford Foundation and Leonard Cheshire Global Ambassador.
