Since the Hamas attack of 7 October 2023, Israel has systematically destroyed the Gaza Strip, killed tens of thousands of people, and deliberately obstructed life-saving humanitarian aid (Amnesty International, 2024; UN, 2025). The scale and intensity of the violence have placed young people in Gaza at severe risk across every dimension of their well-being – including their physical health and nutrition, access to safe water and sanitation (WASH), education, mental health and their bodily integrity and safety.
This brief examines the multidimensional impacts of the war on young people’s capabilities and well-being in order to inform the post-ceasefire humanitarian response.
