Adolescents from ethnic minority communities
In line with GAGE’s commitment to include disadvantaged young people in its longitudinal research sample, GAGE is carrying out research with a number of disadvantaged ethnic minority communities, including Bani Mura and Turkmen communities in Jordan, and Afar and Somali pastoralist communities in Ethiopia.
This has entailed investments in building up trust with local community leaders, and working with researchers from the same communities so that the voices of these young people can inform the study and its efforts to inform policies and programmes.
