You are here because you’re interested in reading and listening to adolescent and youth voices – who may be similar to or different from you. Take a look at our findings and multimedia products, maybe you will see someone who looks and thinks like you, or someone who looks and thinks in a different way. Or maybe, you are interested in learning more about the GAGE programme.

At the heart of GAGE is showcasing adolescent voices and finding global evidence about issues that matter to young people, from climate change to opportunities to speak out and participate in community activism, to peace-building.

We would also love to hear from you, and whether these stories from young people from Africa, Asia and the Middle East resonate with your experiences.

Learn more about GAGE!

GAGE is a ten-year (2016 – 2026) mixed-methods longitudinal research and evaluation study. It follows the lives of 20,000 adolescents in six low- and middle-income countries in Africa (Ethiopia), Asia (Bangladesh and Nepal) and the Middle East (Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine). GAGE is generating evidence on what works to enable adolescent girls and boys to emerge from poverty and fast-track global change for young people, their families and communities.

What is GAGE learning about young people’s experiences in these diverse contexts? Take a look at our summaries, policy briefs and PowerPoints. All our findings focus on adolescent experiences and voices. Read more to find out ‘what works’ for different young people – whether they are living in a pastoralist community in Ethiopia or in a refugee camp in Bangladesh or Jordan, whether they are in school or had to give up their education due to pressures to marry before they reached adulthood or to support their family’s livelihood.

You might want to draw on one of our reports or podcasts for your own research project. You can browse different categories on this page including: health, nutrition and sexual and reproductive health (SRH); economic empowerment; education and learning; voice and agency; bodily integrity and freedom from violence; and psychosocial well-being. So tap into what interests you.
