

Makani | Jordan
Makani is a multi-service community centre programme that was developed in response to the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015 and which reached over 100,000 annually at its height across the Kingdom of Jordan.
It offers a package of services in refugee camps, host communities and informal tented settlements, including education tuition, communication and digital skills programming, psychosocial and child protection support and referrals, sports for development, innovation labs. In 2025 management of the programme was handed over to the Jordanian Ministry of Social Development
GAGE carried out a mixed methods longitudinal evaluation of the programme to
inform adaptive programming from 2018 to 2025.
